You'll need the "page down" and the "arrow" keys a good bit to see all of the clippings. This clipping was published in 1992 in a predecessor to the current paper in Bellaire (sort of). A company in Mt. Pleasant bought the "Antrim County News" plus the Kalkaska and Elk Rapids paper. Due to incompetence the papers all folded. I cancelled my subscription when the child working there didn't know about spelling checking programs and spelled "facade" as "fasod. Fortunately, John Tennant knows how to run a newspaper and the current Bellaire newspaper is worth having. I don't know during what period Rollo Johnson, son of the well known W. W. Johnson of Snowflake, carried the mail but he obviously did.

Downtown Central Lake in the "good old days" Note that the post office is now "Adam's Madams. Anybody remember what the store on the corner next to Bachmann's was?

I wish I could have kept more of the caption on the right hand side. The good news is that we have good originals at the Knowles House. Come Spring come visit us and see one. This is only one of several old pictures that we have. Maybe in the Spring we'll have a yard sale and make a lot of them available for a modest donation. We'll probably haul out our refrigerator and electric stove for offers as well.
